Biking Little Squalicum
Lastupdate:06.06.08 A honey of a ride. Bellingham Washington bike ride. This is a short fairly easy going bicycle ride from Little Squalicum Park beach area to Cedarwood Ave and Northwest Avenue. Trail is hard packed gravel in good condition. Lots of greenery in the creek ravine. Beach offers nice views from the train tressel area of the City of Bellingham and the bay. Honey is for sale along the route. Total one way is less then 1.5 miles of enjoyable sites including parks along the way. The parking lot at the trailhead on Marine Drive is very convenient. It can be found heading west on Eldridge/Marine Drive. Take the first right after crossing the bridge. Parking lot is next to part of BTC, Bellingham Technical College. Disclaimer Travel, visit, bike ride or do anything at your own risk. There MANY things to consider from .gov, angry residents, traffic, weather, dogs, road conditions etc. You name it. Like cars dogs and bicycles don't mix once hit or bitten twice shy. Dogs and cars rule. Many of the routes here are in places where people choose not to tie up their little poop machines. They can be a deadly combination. You need to have a defensive plan of action to employ in a split second. Some areas are worse then others. Bike trails seem to have fewer dog attacks. |
